Jewellery Care Guide
At House of Amayaa, every piece is crafted from a surgical-grade stainless steel base and finished with a thick layer of 18K gold plating designed to be waterproof, sweat-resistant, and tarnish-resistant. With the right care, your pieces will retain their brilliance for years.

Why Our Jewellery Lasts
Our pieces are built on a premium stainless steel core that is naturally resistant to rust, corrosion, and discolouration. The 18K gold plating is applied using an electroplating process that bonds the gold directly to the metal, creating a durable, skin-friendly finish that is hypoallergenic and nickel-free. This is why our jewellery can withstand daily wear, water exposure, and perspiration without tarnishing.
Daily Wear
- Our pieces are designed for all-day wear
- They are safe for all skin types, including sensitive skin, as they contain no nickel or harmful allergens.
- For maximum longevity, remove your jewellery before intense physical activities that involve prolonged chemical exposure (such as swimming in heavily chlorinated pools or hot tubs).
Cleaning
- Wipe your pieces with a soft, lint-free cloth after each wear to remove oils and residue.
- For a deeper clean, rinse briefly under lukewarm water and pat dry with a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive cloths or sponges.
- Do not use jewellery cleaning solutions or ultrasonic cleaners, these can be too harsh for gold-plated surfaces.
Storage
- Store each piece individually in the pouch provided, or in a soft-lined jewellery box. This prevents scratching between pieces.
- Keep jewellery away from direct sunlight, heat, and humidity when not in use.
- Avoid storing pieces in the bathroom, where steam and moisture can accumulate over time.
Perfume & Chemicals
- Always apply perfume, body lotion, sunscreen, and hairspray before putting on your jewellery, not after.
- These products contain chemicals and alcohol that can dull the plating over time with repeated direct exposure.
- Avoid contact with bleach, chlorine, and household cleaning products.
A Note on Gold Plating
All gold-plated jewellery will eventually show signs of wear with sustained exposure to harsh conditions over a long period. Our stainless steel base and thick plating are engineered to outperform standard fashion jewellery significantly, but treating your pieces with care will extend their life further and preserve their finish.
